As NewCities Communications Director, Thomas tells the Foundation’s story, with a focus on digital platforms and building engagement. With the communications team, he will also be working with the Foundation’s network of startups, social innovators, large companies and city governments to tell stories of urban innovation.
Thomas is a long-time journalist turned communications strategist with extensive experience in Canadian and British media industries. Prior to joining the Foundation, Thomas was the Community Editor in the communications department of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Montréal, developing digital strategies, presenting a regular technology column, and coordinating partnerships. Previously, Thomas was a journalist, producer and digital editor for the CBC, the BBC and the Montreal Gazette.
Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics and both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of King’s College in Halifax, Canada.
