In 2010, John Rossant founded the NewCities Foundation. He believes it is imperative that different stakeholders work together to improve the quality of life and work in 21st century global cities.
Stéphanie Grandperret joined NewCities in 2012 and acts as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she directs the finance, operational, legal, HR and administrative activities of every NewCities entity. She also works on memberships and partnerships.
Greg joined NewCities in 2019 as the director of applied research. As an award-winning journalist for more than twenty years, he believes in combining qualitative reporting with quantitative data to understand what makes cities successful and equitable.
Eve joined NewCities in 2019 as Communications and Media Relations Manager. She worked in Toronto, London, Paris and Brittany for non-profit organizations, governmental entities and large corporations in the transportation, health and technology sectors.
Christina joined NewCities in 2020 as a Graphic and Webdesigner. Before that, she lived and worked in Vienna, Copenhagen and Aarhus. Holding a Master degree from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, she brings to the table a refined skillset in Graphic Design, Typography and Wayfinding.
Emily joined the team in 2020 as a Communications Officer. She has worked in PR and communications with several reputable organizations, including the United Nations Secretariat to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
Hannah joined NewCities in mid-2018 and is our Events and Partnerships Manager. Prior to joining the NewCities team, she worked in research, events, and communications at Women in Cities International, a nonprofit that advances women’s safety in urban environments. Hannah has a BA from McGill University in history, film studies, and gender studies.
Salomé joined NewCities in 2019 and is a Project Coordinator. Before that, she worked in Delhi, India, where she witnessed many challenges that urban environments can face. She strongly believes that it is crucial for all types of actors to work together towards more sustainability.
Holly is a city-enthusiast with a background in Urban Planning and Psychology. She has worked in Portland, Montreal, and Copenhagen, and completed a Master in Urban Planning at the University of Amsterdam. Her approach centres quality of life, sustainability, and equity at the heart of urban policy and design.
Anthea joined NewCities at the beginning of 2020. As the CoMotion Program Coordinator, she programs the topics and speakers at the CoMotion LA and Miami conferences. Originally from Vancouver, Anthea holds a BASc in Cognitive Science with a minor in Linguistics from McGill University.
Timothy grew up in Paris, and after obtaining his BA in History and Politics at the University of York in England, he spent two years working in Spain and London. He then studied for a research degree at the University of Oxford.
