In 2010, John Rossant founded the NewCities Foundation. He believes it is imperative that different stakeholders work together to improve the quality of life and work in 21st century global cities.
Olivia is Director of Research and Events for NewCities. In this role she has dual-responsibilities; directing the research ventures, including fellowships and pilot projects of the Foundation, as well as the design and management of the thought-leadership events and workshops that discuss and disseminate best practices in urban development.
Stéphanie Grandperret joined NewCities in 2012 and acts as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she directs the finance, operational, legal, HR and administrative activities of every NewCities entity. She also works on memberships and partnerships.
Greg joined NewCities in 2019 as the director of applied research. As an award-winning journalist for more than twenty years, he believes in combining qualitative reporting with quantitative data to understand what makes cities successful and equitable.
Michael joined NewCities in early-2018 in the role of Manager, Research Programs. Michael places an emphasis on successful knowledge transfer: advancing NewCities' mission by identifying the mediums which best enable the sharing of vital information across stakeholders.
Rachel joined NewCities in September 2013. As the Creative Director, she art directs the visual communication for all NewCities events, programs and research. Originally from Birmingham, UK, Rachel holds a BA from Chelsea College of Art, the University of the Arts, London.
Esther joined NewCities in early 2017. As the Project Coordinator, she manages the foundation’s various programs with a particular focus on fundraising and event curation.
Chloé is the Executive and Project Assistant at NewCities. Prior to joining the NewCities’ team, Chloé interned at UN Environment in Washington, D.C. in communications. There, she explored the innovative power of cities to build environmental resilience while providing a safe and inclusive home for citizens.
Hannah joined NewCities as Events Coordinator. Prior to joining the NewCities team, she worked in research, events, and communications at Women in Cities International, a nonprofit that advances women’s safety in urban environments. Hannah has a BA from McGill University in history, film studies, and gender studies.
Holly is an avid city enthusiast, endlessly curious people-person, and creative problem solver. She is inspired by biking on city streets and lounging in vibrant public spaces. Prior to moving to Montreal and joining NewCities as the Project Assistant, Holly completed a Master in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Amsterdam.
Timothy grew up in Paris, and after obtaining his BA in History and Politics at the University of York in England, he spent two years working in Spain and London. He then studied for a research degree at the University of Oxford.
