Chris Michael is the deputy editor of Guardian Cities. He was media correspondent at the National Post, cofounded Trucker magazine, spent three years at what is now the International New York Times/Asahi Shimbun in Tokyo and joined the Guardian culture desk in 2007, moving on to launch Guardian Cities earlier this year.
