Roger Sherman, AIA is Design Director of Urban Strategy at Gensler LA. Previously, Roger was founder of Roger Sherman Architecture and Urban Design. His work has been featured in Newsweek and Fast Company, on CNN and The History Channel, and exhibited at the Rotterdam and Venice Biennales. Projects include the design of a new town in the Ecuadorian Amazon; Thinking Outside the Big Box, an urban infill strategy for Target; a digitally-driven public space for the Sunset Strip; an infrastructure and urban development plan for northern Haiti; and HYPO-PARK, a high-density public recreation space. Sherman is former Co-Director of cityLAB, an urban design thinktank at UCLA, where he is an Adjunct Professor. A Senior Fellow at UToronto’s Global Cities Institute, he is author of 3 books, including “LA Under the Influence: The Hidden Logic of Urban Property”, and has taught and lectured widely, including at New York’s MoMA, Zocalo Public Square and TEDx.
