Dr. Shirai obtained his masters from Waseda University (Tokyo) and a PhD from the London School of Economics. He worked at Office for Metropolitan Architecture (Rotterdam and Beijing) and on Masterplan design team for the 2012 London Olympic Park. Dr. Shirai is currently a partner of H2R architects (Tokyo, Taipei) and an associate professor at the University of Shiga Prefecture.
