Andy Merritt is a co founder and director at Makerversity and more specifically helps head the spacial design and logistics of the space. Makerversity started as a work and education space for start-up making businesses, and applied learning opportunities. At our Somerset House home in central London we provide access to a range of fabrication and prototyping tools, spaces, event and learning facilities. It exist to support emerging practice and start-up businesses as well as learning and employability opportunities for young people.
Alongside Makerversity Andy is the co founder of Something & Son an arts practice who work reflects the two founders varied backgrounds and shared passion in art, social systems, the environment and engineering, leading them to produce popular, provocative and witty architectural and sculptural work that tackles the social/ environmental challenges of our time. They have worked with, amongst others, V&A Museum, London; Gwangju Biennale, South Korea; London Festival of Architecture; Ikea, Sweden; Tate Modern, London; Folkestone Triennial, UK; Kinsale Arts Festival, Ireland; Cultural Olympics, London, and Istanbul Design Biennial, Turkey.
