Holly Hixson

Director of Strategy and Operations, NewCities (she/her)

In her role, Holly provides strategic advice and leadership across departments to ensure the successful delivery of work and alignment with NewCities’ overall vision and goals. She oversees operational processes, conceptualizes and manages projects, and builds strong relationships that support NewCities’ business development goals. Holly has worked cross functionally on the NewCities and CoMotion teams over her tenure, managing NewCities’ Masterclasses and New Housing Solutions initiative, and leading the event curation and coordination of Leading by Example, CoMotion LA and Miami, and Wellbeing Cities.

She brings a background in Urban Planning to the team with expertise in active mobility, placemaking, and urban wellbeing. Prior to joining the NewCities team in 2019, she completed a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Amsterdam, as well as dual Bachelor’s degrees at the University of Oregon. Holly is also a member of the Founding Board of Directors at Women in Urbanism Canada.
